(Ask Bunny Bound) What I find particularly problemmatical about British censorship is reflected in an experience I had just a few days ago while looking up information about a German movie made a few decades ago.
I read that the British censors demanded cuts amounting to about 20 minutes before they would allow the movie to be shown.
I'd like to find out exactly what is meant by "harm to the viewer" and how this is determined from the targeted content.
Any one who can shed some light on that will have my profound appreciation. S., it is more common to object to content because of its alleged insidious, corrupting influence on individuals, ultimately leading to social consequences (anti-social or illegal behavior) or a more global undermining of community moral standards.
Had I been entirely serious I would not have used the adjective 'monstrous'.
The last part of my post was written with tongue partly in cheek; how fortunate that we do not type with our tongues!
As yet I've never had the experience of being a real gimp myself, but who knows I might some day.
Sometimes I even tie myself up when no one is at home. And this is followed by a BATS scene where the blonde is tied to a stake but those obnoxious good guys interrupt it almost immediately after the fire is lit. There's more branding pics in the Hot Iron Database along with the video link and I'll post more BATS ones over at the Stakedamsels forum. Just implied by the FBI agents it happened because of the look of the corpses. My parents were very conservative but they died when I was 14.Actually, I thought the most effective scene of the show came at the very beginning, where we see another woman slowly being tortured by being crushed with large rocks. That very short less then ten second pyre on fire bats scene made no entertainment sense to me at all. I live with my stepsister and boyfriend now who are much more lax when it comes to things like this - even though I don't think they really know how much I am into this kind of stuff.Joe Pass and Becky: Looks like we have a couple of newbies here.Welcome to the board, and we're glad to see you here.
